Taste of a Century
L’Hotel Bahar located nearby monumental gate ”Arch of Victory” similar to the Arc de Triumph in Paris, as a memorial to Afghanistan’s 1919 war of independence from Britain. Covering 5 acres, this oasis of peace amid the clogged population of Kabul city dates back to the reign of Ghazi Amanullah the sovereign and King of Afghanistan 1919-1929.
The King formally ordered, supervised and opened the completed royal Bahar Hotel, which includes majestic 100+ year-old Native Walnut trees preserved on the periphery of the garden, offering as its focal point. Gutted and eerily empty, however, now there is nothing left of what was once the King’s hillside pastel pink Bahar Hotel. The spectacular Walnut trees and this garden are now maintained and rebuilding by “Kite Travel Boutique” team (2023).
Upscale 4-star L’Hotel Bahar planned to come with a gym, spa, great restaurants, and an outdoor pool and at its perimeter, it will have a number of cafés. Additionally, various foods will be available, and a beautiful garden with flowers. Furthermore, tennis courts and ice-cream stands will complete the picture. In addition, the park hosts open-air family gatherings during the summer and nature-lovers alike.
Paghman, known as the summer capital of Afghanistan, transformed into a holiday retreat at the bottom of the Hindu Kush Mountain. Cultural and historic treasures abound in Paghman.
