About this tour

Rise to the Top of the World including Hindukush range hiking and visit Pamir highland, Wakhan Corridor and Batang Valley in far north-east Badakhshan province. Small-group tour with a local guide and private car “safe travel by-road”.

But because so few cars travel out here, and the route is unforgiving to vehicles, the price of this “taxi” journey is yet affordable. Once you made it to Sarhad-e Broghil, you and your guide will spend the night at a guesthouse. The next day you begin your 100 mile trek across the towering, snow-capped Pamir Mountains.

There are literally no government services, large parts of the region have no roads, and people are basically living on their own in the mountains. The area is inhabited by two main ethnic groups, the Wakhi and the Kyrgyz. The Wakhi often have two homes, one for winter and one for summer months, made of stone.

What to expect

It may be one of the smallest and most unknown places in the remotest area of Badakhshan province, but the way its people and welcome new comers is amazing for you as a tourist. The whole Badakhshan in general, and Pamir in particular is one of the most exciting places in Afghanistan.

Meet your guide at our office located in Arrival Hall (Terminal 1) Kabul International Airport or in Sher Khan Border Crossing (Kunduz Province). Please show up at the meeting point at least 10-15 minutes before meeting time.
